Become a Raiders Trustee!
As part of our strategic review, we have been considering the makeup of the Raiders Trustee Board and the skills that we require. In addition, two of our longstanding Trustees – Steve Slater and Mark Lawlor – will be standing down at the AGM in September. We are therefore looking for three Trustees who can contribute to the continued success of Raiders. The deadline for applications is Friday 5th June. A description of the roles is provided below. These are unpaid, volunteer roles.

Trustee – Marketing
Role and Responsibilities
- Oversee the volunteer marketing team.
- Drive and oversee the creation and implementation of integrated marketing and communications strategies with any required annual marketing budget.
- Manage brand guidelines, tone of voice and usage guide to maintain brand standards.
- Drive and oversee engagement strategy including calendar of events / comms for key audiences – parents, players, volunteers, community influencers, sponsors and FA.
- Develop email and social strategy – Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and Twitter and work with volunteers to create assets and messages during the year.
- Oversee website content, production and updates.
- Create PR strategy to build momentum before Women’s Euro 2021 positioning Raiders as the number 1 grass-roots girls football club in the UK
- Lead fundraising strategy and relationships with key sponsors and oversee marketing support requirements for fundraising and sponsorship initiatives.
- Support strategic membership growth ambitions in girls, inclusive, futsal etc.
- Manage the club’s marketing expenditure in accordance with club rules.
- Take responsibility for personal conflicts of interests and declare, record and manage these appropriately.
- Attend Trustee meetings and contribute to the overall Trustee responsibility for best practice management of the Club.
Trustee – Accountant
Role and Responsibilities
- Qualified Chartered Accountant
- Ensure that proper accounts and records are kept, and that financial resources are expended and invested in line with charity policy, good governance, legal and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure that the Club maintains up to date and correct financial records.
- Advise the Trustee Board on appropriate accounting practice and financial controls and systems.
- Oversee, and present budgets, accounts, and financial statements to the board of trustees
- Review the charity’s annual accounts.
- Identify a suitable third party to independently review the annual accounts.
- Take responsibility for personal conflicts of interests and declare, record and manage these appropriately.
- Attend Trustee meetings and contribute to the overall Trustee responsibility for best practice management of the Club.
Trustee – Welfare
Role and Responsibilities
- Oversee the Club welfare team.
- Oversee a safeguarding policy that meets the standards required by law, and the National and County Football Associations.
- Ensure the Club’s safeguarding policies are reviewed every 12 months.
- Identify the requirement for and training of Club Welfare Officers.
- Oversee the development and implementation of procedures needed to manage complaints concerning welfare matters.
- Oversee and advise where necessary, the handling by Club Welfare Officers of any welfare related complaints made about the club by external parties, by the club about external parties or within the club.
- With the Club Welfare Officers, develop processes for the management of and reporting on mandatory training and DBS clearances required by those who are regularly caring for, supervising, training or being in sole charge of children and young people.
- Attend Club meetings and the AGM, as required, and report on Club welfare
- Take responsibility for personal conflicts of interests and declare, record and manage these appropriately.
- Attend Trustee meetings and contribute to the overall Trustee responsibility for best practice management of the Club.
