DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to announce that our 2026 Berkhamsted Raiders Summer Football Tournament\, will be held on Saturday 6th June (GIRLS)  and Sunday 7th June 2026 (BOYS) at Ashlyns School\, Chesham Road\, Berkhamsted HP4 3AH. (HP4 3AE if using Satnav) \nEach year\, we typically have around 180 to 200 teams taking part in this event each day\, with around 7\,000 specatators across the weekend.  Refreshments and entertainment will be available throughout the day including a BBQ\, sweet/cake stalls\, games and more.  \nThe team sizes per game will vary depending on age group: \n\nU7-U8 will be a 5v5 Fair Play Festival in groups\, with a medal for every player.\nU9-U12 will be a 6v6 league and knock-out format.\n U13s will be 6v6 for Girls teams and 9v9 for Boys teams\nU14-U15 will be a 9v9 league and knock-out format.\n\nAll entries and payments will be managed through Ticket Tailor. The entry cost is £50 per team. To ensure an enjoyable experience for all the teams taking part\, this tournament is not open to teams playing in EJA\, JPL or Academy level leagues. Please note: Only FA affiliated teams will be eligible to enter the tournament. \nThe cost to enter is £50 per team.  If the tournament is cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control\, refunds will be made\, less a handling fee of £5 per team. \nWe advise booking as early as possible\, as in previous years most age groups have filled up quickly. DESCRIPTION:Raiders Tour 2026 is back!! We are now opening registration for the Raiders Tour which\, after a successful event in 2025\, is returning to Bournemouth next year! \n*********** \nBuilding on the success of our 2025 Tour where we had over 625 people attending from Boys and Girls teams and families\, we are heading back to Bournemouth on the 1st to 4th May 2026 Bank Holiday Weekend. Last year we had 256 players in 27 teams from the U7-U14 Boys and U10-U14 Girls age groups. If any U9 Girls are keen to take part then we can accommodate them in the U10 age group.  \nWhere: Rockley Park Holiday Park\, Bournemouth\nWhen: 1st – 4th May 2026\nWho: Can accommodate all our current team requirements from U7 to U14 Boys and U10 to U15 Girls. \nThe accommodation is a similar standard to our accommodation last year but we have requested more Gold and Silver caravans and less Saver/Bronze caravans. We will still have those caravan types to ensure we have options for all budgets and accommodation preferences. \n\nAccommodation\nThere are several different accommodation options but they fundamentally split into Budget\, Standard and Luxury. However\, whilst there are more units available in the Luxury range\,final options will depend on availability and operate on a first come\, first served basis for payments for this busy event.  \nThe accommodation is a mix of 4-berth\, 6-berth and 8-berth caravans.  \n\n4-berth – one double room and one twin room\n6-berth – one double room and two twin rooms\n8-berth – one double room\, two twin rooms and one double sofa bed in the lounge\nThe number of units is skewed more towards 4-6 berth units with fewer 8 berth units available. \n\nUnder Occupancy Charges\nThere are underoccupancy charges if you are not filling a caravan fully but the accommodation is better suited to matching pairs so should be less people having to pay an additional charge\, as long as you are willing to share. \n There is a minimum 4-person charge so if you are intending to go as a 2\, then we strongly urge you to pair up with another pair or group within your age group to avoid under-occupancy charges. \n\n2 people in a 4-berth – pay 100% of 3rd and 4th spaces\n3 people in a 4-berth – pay 100% of 4th space cost\n4 people in a 4-berth – no surcharge\n5 people in a 6-berth – no surcharge\n6 people in a 6-berth – no surcharge\n7 people in a 8-berth – pay 100% of 8th space cost\n\nCost\nBelow is a table that shows the relative costs per person for all accommodation options. \nTo secure your place on the tour we need a £50 per person\, non-refundable deposit\, that we have to pay to the tour organisers. We will then ask for the balance payment to be made in February 2026 when we are finalising all accommodation allocations to the tour organisers. \n \nWe have taken the event organiser costs and added in a £20pp charge to cover our admin and team registration costs. Last year we were fortunate to have a range of very kind sponsors cover the cost of our Tour shirts and we hope to do the same thing again this year. \nFREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS\nQ. Can I pay separately and share with another family?\nYes\, this is possible\, just indicate on your registration who you intend to share with. \nQ. If there are just 2 of us\, do we need to share?\nNo\, you don’t need to share but you will be liable for an under-occupancy charge up to a minimum of 4 people. Part of the fun of the Tour is meeting and spending time with people within Raiders so we would urge you to consider sharing where possible to reduce costs and make optimum use of the accommodation available. \nWe have family who live near Bournemouth\, can we stay off-site and still attend the Tour?\nUnfortunately not\, this is a golden rule of the Tour organisers that everyone attending the Tour must stay in the approved accommodation. \nThe costs seem much higher than if I was just to book a weekend at Rockley Park\, why is it so expensive in comparison?\nThis is one of our most asked questions! The accommodation costs are one small part of the costs of putting on an event like the Tour. The organisers are a commercial organisation that not only has to pay for the accommodation from Haven but also the pitches\, equipment\, referees\, trophies\, celebrity trophy presenter\, staff and all the other costs they incur as well as making a reasonable profit as a commercial organisation.\nWe pass on the costs we are charged by the organisers and add on a small fee to cover our costs that we incur in organising the event within Raiders. \n\n\nNEXT STEPS \n1. DESCRIPTION:Bookings are now open for our Annual Watford Match Day Experience\nSaturday 27th September 2025 \nOur Watford Match Day Experience is a highly popular and enjoyable day out for our younger age groups. Not only do the boys and girls get to experience a Watford FC football match but they also get a dedicated training session at Watford FC’s community training ground.  \nThis year the Watford Match Day is on Saturday 27th September 2024 when Watford FC host Hull City FC. \nThe cost is £25 per person and we have 180 child places and 180 adults places available. As we want to maximise the number of children taking part\, we ask parents to limit the number of adults attending per child to a maximum of 1. If you are potentially interested in attending the 2025 Tour then please email chairman[at]berkhamstedraiders.com with your details and we will let you know of any options. \n*********** \nAfter a highly successful weekend in Rhyll this year\, the Raiders Tour is officially back in 2025 with a new destination – Bournemouth!  \nWhilst the Rhyl tournament was a great weekend for all the kids and adults that took part\, we took onboard the feedback about the location and travelling time and the lack of competitive football for some of the younger age groups. This year we are heading back to our pre-COVID roots and joining the highly popular Bournemouth Classic Tour.  It is on the same weekend as last year over the May Day weekend of 2nd-5th May 2025. \nWhere: Rockley Park Holiday Park\, Bournemouth\nWhen: 2nd – 5th May 2025\nWho: Can accommodate all our current team requirements from U7 to U14 Boys and U10 to U14 Girls. \nKey points \n\nThe accommodation is a similar standard to our accommodation in Rhyl and gets a 4 out of 5 rating on Trip Advisor.\nIt is closer than Rhyl\, North Wales with an estimated journey time of approx 2.5-3 hours which is hopefully more convenient for everyone. \nThere is a range of accommodation options from budget/value caravans to a few luxury lodges\nOverall\, the cost is a little more expensive than Rhyl but there are accommodation options to suit various budgets.\nAccommodation \nThere are several different accommodation options but they fundamentally split into Budget\, Standard and Luxury. DESCRIPTION:After a covid-enforced hiatus of 5 years our Raiders Tour is officially back in 2024. After the closure of our original accommodation option at Camber Sands we have switched tour and venue to Golden Sands Holiday Park in Rhyll\, North Wales. \nIt is on the same weekend as originally planned and meets all of our original aims and ambitions for the Tour.  \nWhere: Golden Sands Holiday Park\, Rhyll\, North Wales\nWhen: 3rd – 6th May 2024\nWho: Can accommodate all our current team requirements from U8s to U15s \nKey points \n\nThe accommodation is a step above the previous option at Pontins and the holiday park gets a 4 out of 5 rating on Trip Advisor.\nIt is further away than Camber Sands with an estimated journey time of approx 3.5-4 hours but hopefully\, that is still manageable for everyone.\nThere is a range of accommodation options from standard/value caravans to a few luxury lodges\nOverall\, the cost works out cheaper than Camber Sands for standard accommodation as we’ve negotiated lower team registration costs. We have removed the cost for the proposed social activity as we are unsure of what we can do for the time being.\nThe reason we did not originally select this tour was that they couldn’t fit in teams U14s and above but they have been able to change the format and accommodate all our teams with competitive matches up to U15s.\n\nAccommodation \nThere are several different accommodation options but they fundamentally split into Standard and Luxury options. However\, there are not many units available in the Luxury range so the choice will be more around Comfort and Superior caravans.\nLinks to each accommodation type are here: \n\nValue Caravans\nComfort Caravans\nComfort Chalets\nSuperior Caravans\nLuxury Caravans\nBurst Of Blue Caravans\nLuxury Lodges\n\nThe accommodation is essentially a mix of 4-berth\, 6-berth and 8-berth chalets/caravans. There are a couple of 10-berth caravans. The 5-berth option shown below is 5 people in a 6-berth \n\n4-berth – one double room and one twin room\n5-berth & 6-berth – one double room and two twin rooms\n8-berth – one double room\, two twin rooms and one sofa bed in the lounge\n10-berth – one double room\, two twin rooms and one bunk bedroom\n\nThe number of units is skewed more towards 4-6 berth units with fewer 8-10 berth units available. \nUnder Occupancy Charges \nThere are underoccupancy charges if not filling a caravan fully as before but the accommodation is better suited to matching pairs so should be less people having to pay an additional charge. \n\n2 people in a 4-berth – pay 100% of 3rd space and 50% of 4th space cost\n3 people in a 4-berth – pay 50% of 4th space cost\n4 people in a 6-berth – pay 100% of 5th space cost\n5 people in a 6-berth – no surcharge\n6 people in an 8-berth – pay the pp price for 6 people but no surcharge\n8 people in a 10-berth – pay the pp price for 8 people but no surcharge\n\nCost \nBelow is a table that shows the relative costs per person for all accommodation options. \n \nWe have added in a £5pp charge to cover admin and team registration costs.\nIf we decide to do a social or provide a team shirt we will charge this separately. \nNEXT STEPS  \nIf you have not previously registered for the Tour then please fill in all your details to register your interest in attending our Raiders 2024 Tour – https://bit.ly/raiderstour2024registration  \nThis will then be used to raise an invoice request for a non-refundable £50pp deposit to be added to your LoveAdmin account. DESCRIPTION:  \n \nCRY SCREENING DATE 2nd March 2024 \nEvery week in the UK at least 12 assumingly fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed heart conditions…  CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) is a national charity saving young lives and supporting those affected.  The charity aims to reduce the frequency of young\, sudden cardiac death by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and appropriate screening facilities to help protect and promote the cardiac health in our young.  Harry Faulkner and Alex Hubbard were both Raiders players who lost their lives early to an undiagnosed heart condition. High profile cases in the professional game such as Tom Lockyer and Christian Eriksen have brought it to national attention as well. At the last Raiders screening\, a number of individuals were identified needing additional investigations.  This is why Raiders are so passionate about supporting and promoting CRY. \nOn Saturday 2nd March 2024 we will be hosting our next Screening Day. This is an opportunity for Raiders members\, and their siblings\, to have a non-invasive\, safe and simple ECG test carried out by trained medical professionals. If further tests are needed then full advice and information will be given on the day.  \nPLEASE NOTE: The screening day is only available for children aged 14 or over as for children younger than this\, their hearts are not yet fully developed enough for the equipment to work accurately \nThe event\, run in conjunction with Cardiac Risk in the Young\, costs approximately £6\,000 to host which covers the costs of the medical team and their equipment for the day. Refreshments and entertainment will be available throughout the day including a BBQ\, sweet/cake stalls\, games and more.  \nThe team sizes per game will vary depending on age group: \n\nU7-U8 will be a 5v5 Fair Play Festival in groups\, with a medal for every player.\nU9-U12 will be a 6v6 league and knock-out format.\nU13-U15 will be a 9v9 league and knock-out format.\n\nAll entries and payments will be managed through Ticket Tailor.
