SUMMARY:Raiders Boys Tournament 2022
DESCRIPTION:The annual Berkhamsted Raiders 6-a-side boys football tournament (5-a-side for U7/U8) which will be held on Sunday 12th June 2022 at Ashlyns School\, Chesham Road\, Berkhamsted HP4 3AH. (HP4 3AE if using Satnav) \nAll entries/payments will be online at https://buytickets.at/berkhamstedraiderscfc/642261 \nEach year\, we typically have around 120 teams competing in this event\, with around 2\,500 spectators.  Refreshments and entertainment will also be available throughout the day including a BBQ\, sweet/cake stalls and games.  Please pass this information on to all relevant managers in your football club to ensure that they have an opportunity to register for what will again be a first-class tournament. \nThe age groups for the competition this year will be: \n Boys:     U7 to U14 – This is based on ages for the 2021/22 season.  U7 and U8 will be a 5-a-side Fair Play Festival in groups\, with a medal for every player. \nTo create a fun and competitive experience for all the teams\, we run two competitions\, a Cup and a Plate\, in each of the U9s to U14s age groups.  This allows us to better match the differing standards of teams and has provided a much more competitive and enjoyable experience for everyone in previous years. \n When registering your team via Ticket Tailor\, please can you make sure you fill in the league and division your team plays in so we can do our best to place your team into the right competition. We reserve the right to decline an entry if we do not have enough places in the relevant Cup or Plate tournament based on your league and division and will advise you as soon as possible if this is the case. \nPlease note: Only FA affiliated teams will be eligible to enter the tournament. \nThe cost to enter is £45 per team.  If the tournament is cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control\, refunds will be made\, less a handling fee of £5 per team. \nYou are advised to book early as in previous years most age groups have filled up quickly.  There is a restriction on the number of teams from the same club in each age group with a maximum of 2 teams per age group per club.  We do not restrict squad sizes\, but bear in mind it is a 6-a-side tournament for U9s to U14s and 5-a-side for U7s and U8s. \nFinal confirmation of full details and tournament rules will be emailed to all accepted teams at the beginning of June. \nIf you require any further information\, please do not hesitate to contact me on admin@berkhamstedraiders.com

SUMMARY:Raiders Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) Screening Day
DESCRIPTION:  \nCRY SCREENING DATE 23rd October 2021 \nEvery week in the UK at least 12 assumingly fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed heart conditions…  CRY is a national charity saving young lives and supporting those affected.  The charity aims to reduce the frequency of young\, sudden cardiac death by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and appropriate screening facilities to help protect and promote the cardiac health in our young.  Harry Faulkner and Alex Hubbard were both Raiders players who lost their lives early to an undiagnosed heart condition. At the last Raiders screening\, four individuals were identified needing additional investigations.  This is why Raiders are so passionate about supporting and promoting CRY. \nPLEASE NOTE: The screening day is only available for children aged 14 or over as for children younger than this\, their hearts are not yet fully developed enough for the equipment to work accurately \nDetails about booking a place on the screening day are below: \n\nVisit www.testmyheart.org.uk/private/\nFind Berkhamsted – Hertfordshire listed for the 23rd October 2021. Click Register.\nThe password for this screening is BERK2021\nSelect a time slot and click ‘register now’.
