Operations Manager Vacancy
Berkhamsted Raiders is a thriving, community-driven football club supporting over 1,400 players across 100+ teams.
We are looking for an Operations & Club Delivery Manager to play a central role in how the club runs day-to-day — ensuring that everything from pitches and fixtures to events and communications is delivered to a high standard.

You will act as the operational backbone of the club, helping deliver a consistently high-quality experience across all areas.
Role overview
This is a hands-on, varied role combining operations, logistics, planning and stakeholder coordination.
Key areas include:
- Managing pitch allocation and facilities
- Coordinating equipment, kit and suppliers
- Delivering major club events and tournaments
- Leading organisation of the annual club tour
- Supporting communication across teams and volunteers
- Coordinating volunteers and key stakeholders
You will work closely with the Trustees, Age Group Coordinators and wider volunteer network. Additional roles may be developed, with agreement, based on capabilities, workload and future requirements.
Working pattern & flexibility
- Typically 30–35 hours per week (averaged across the year)
- Flexible, trust-based working
- Some weekend involvement (events, winter coordination)
- Workload varies seasonally

What we’re looking for
We are looking for someone who:
- Is highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities
- Communicates confidently with a wide range of stakeholders
- Takes ownership and solves problems proactively
- Enjoys working in a fast-paced, community environment
Experience in operations, logistics or event delivery is important. Experience in grassroots sport is helpful but not essential.
Location
- Home-based, with regular presence around Berkhamsted
- Travel to local venues and events required
- Access to a car is essential
Salary
- c.£30-£35,000 per annum (depending on experience)
- Plus agreed expenses and flexible working arrangements.
