Berkhamsted Raiders Community Football Club is proud to offer an Inclusive Football programme that ensures children, young people and adults with physical and/or neurological conditions have the opportunity to enjoy football in a safe, welcoming and supportive environment.
As one of the largest grassroots football clubs in the country, inclusion is central to our ethos. Our Inclusive Football sessions are designed to be accessible, fun and confidence building, helping players feel part of a team while developing football skills at their own pace.
Who Is Inclusive Football For?
Our Inclusive Football programme is open to players of all abilities, including those with:
- Physical disabilities
- Learning disabilities
- Autism spectrum conditions
- Neurological or sensory needs
No previous football experience is required. Sessions are adapted to suit the needs of individual players, with a strong emphasis on enjoyment, participation and personal development.

- U16s & Adults Inclusive Football – Fridays | 6:00pm – 7:00pm

Free Taster Sessions
We want families to feel confident that our sessions are right for them. That’s why the first four sessions are completely free for new players.
This gives players the chance to settle in, meet the coaches and enjoy football in a relaxed environment before deciding whether to continue.

Does my child need to have played football before?
No. No previous football experience is required. Our Inclusive Football sessions are designed for players of all abilities, including those who are new to football or sport in general.
What types of needs can you support?
We welcome players with a wide range of physical and/or neurological conditions, including autism, learning disabilities, sensory needs and physical disabilities. Sessions are adapted where possible to suit individual needs.
Is Inclusive Football competitive?
The primary focus is fun, participation and confidence-building. Where appropriate, players may have opportunities to take part in festivals, tournaments or friendly matches, but there is no pressure to compete.
Are parents or carers able to stay during sessions?
Yes. Parents and carers are very welcome to stay pitch-side and watch sessions, especially while players are settling in.
What support do coaches provide?
Sessions are led by experienced, friendly coaches who understand the importance of patience, encouragement and flexibility. We aim to create a calm, positive and supportive environment for every player.
What should my child wear or bring?
Players should wear comfortable sports clothing, suitable footwear for 3G astro pitches, and bring a drink. Shin pads are recommended.
What happens if my child needs a break?
That’s absolutely fine. Players are encouraged to take breaks whenever needed. Sessions are flexible and designed to support individual comfort and wellbeing.
