COVID-19: All Raiders games and training suspended

  • FA announcement on COVID-19

Following the Government’s announcement yesterday, for people to avoid social contact and gatherings where possible, the FA is now advising that all grassroots football in England is postponed for the foreseeable future.

Raiders will follow the FA’s lead. All match play and training sessions are suspended until further notice.

We appreciate that Raiders children will continue to attend school, but we must comply with the FA advice…. NO grassroots football.

We have advised the local schools that we use and site owners of this decision.

Informal football

Please note that for safeguarding and insurance purposes, it is not possible for parents to use Raiders resources (e.g. Raiders slots on BerkoAstro 3G or Raiders pitches) informally to arrange football training or matches.

If parents wish to organise informal football, then this must not be organised under the auspices of Raiders or related to Raiders and is a decision for the parents involved. There will be no Raiders sanctioned football until further notice.

Other Raiders events

Clearly, the latest announcement puts at risk various Raiders activities in the coming months – the Raiders Charity Quiz (already postponed), the Raiders Tour, Presentation Day and the Boys and Girls Tournaments. At this time, we have not taken a decision on whether to proceed with these.

We will continually monitor the situation and will update you with any news.
